03/31/21 - As part of March’s core value, Seeking Fairness, with an emphasis on “we hire the best”, I wanted to submit an introduction for our new hire Kyle (KD) Jones. KD started with us on 03/16/21. We had been short staffed since before the end of 2020 and interviewed about a dozen candidates before finding KD and determining that he was the best fit for our team and the Essex family. We won him away from Thrive communities but more than that he was already an Essex resident who saw the quality of our organization and wanted to be part of that. In the short time since he joined our team, KD has been a great asset: he is a fresh set of eyes for opportunities to make our property better, he comes up with cost saving ideas and suggestions for improving our vacant units and tour path. He is eager to learn our policies/procedures and welcomes coaching and constructive criticism. I have no doubt that he will continue to grow with us and embrace the Seeking Fairness value as well as the others as they are highlighted.

Thanks to the Covid vaccine, I can finally hug my 99-year old grandfather after a year and a half. I am grateful to be alive to hug family members and can't wait to get my own vaccine shots!!! :) Bonnie

We lost our son in a motorcycle accident on the 8th of April. I was overwhelmed with the support and kindness of my RPM, my team and the other managers in my region. They all stepped up to help me with my community and they checked on me daily to make sure that my family was fed and to check our mental well being. Every day is hard but I know I have the love, friendship, and support of my Essex family. Lisa Melendrez

It is with much gratitude & appreciation that I spotlight my RPM- Abigail Dizon, colleague-Tom Florini and team Leasing Specialists Janae Leggett for their support during what was a compound of difficulty for my family and I in Q4 of 2021 revolving around the loss of my Father. You each know what you did to support me and I will never forget your words, kindness and call to action during that time.
In addition I’d like to thank Essex for this platform to allow the space for this feedback type, this speaks to who we are as a company and where we are heading.
