Background Check

Once a candidate is approved by Recruiting for hire and the offer letter is sent, the candidate must go through the background process. All background documents are completed online via iCIMS (except the WA MVR form).
*Please note the MVR must be submitted in order to move forward with the background check process. The form is managed directly by EBI our vendor.

Drug Test: Candidates are emailed a link to schedule their own drug tests at a location that is convenient for them. For any complications, please contact  recruiting@essex.com for assistance.

Background Status: Recruiting will send an email once the background has been completed, letting the hiring manager know whether a candidate has passed or failed. iCIMS will also send a welcome email with pre-hire paperwork  that should be completed PRIOR to their first day.  Additionally, they will recieve NHO details.

Pass: The hiring manager must confirm the new hire's start day by replying all to the Passed Background email.
Fail: Candidates have five days to dispute the background results through our background vendor, Accurate Background, to challenge the results. A hiring manager cannot extend an offer to another candidate until after the five days have passed if the candidate wishes to dispute. We would hold the position until the dispute has been resolved.
