Voluntary Termination

Steps

IMPORTANT -  In order to process a sucessful voluntary termination, the below steps MUST be followed:

Termination process to be completed in Workday

  1. Associate submits notice of resignation.  Please note:  It is required to secure a notice in writing. For job abandonment please contact HR to discuss.  Manager must complete a job abandonment form (obtained by  HR) and submit via the steps below.
  2. Community Manager/Manager will launch Workday and select My Team Management icon on home screen. Select Terminate in the action menu on the right and complete the form, attaching all applicable documents.
  3. You must enter the last week of work is in Workday on the associate’s timecard, under Time and Absence. Then, go to your inbox in Workday, find the Final Time Entry task and click Submit. *Failing to confirm this task in your Workday inbox will prevent the termination from being processed.
  4. Onsite: All commissions that are payable and due to the associate by their term date MUST BE submitted as well. Please add the approved Commissions in Workday under One Time Payments. Job Aid how to enter here

    Important Payroll Processing Information:

    1. Submit required documents as soon as resignation is given BUT NO LATER THAN 2  BUSINESS DAYS  before the term date
    2. Ensure that NO overtime is worked in the last week. This is very important because Payroll begins processing the termination 48 hours prior to the associate’s last day.
    3. NOTIFY PAYROLL IMMEDIATELY if any additional hours/OT worked. These hours MUST be immediately paid.
    4. Payroll processes final paycheck and sends to the community/department via FedEx.

Corporate: If associate was responsible for approving invoices, please contact APSupport@essex.com to inform them of change

Please use Exit Checklist on Associate's last day to ensure all company related items are retrieved.
