Who would have known we have a published author on our team?

Joel Knox, Leasing Specialist at Alessio, recently published his second novel, Alter.

An espionage thriller with a little bit of supernatural, Alter features James Hyde, the protagonist, whose dream has always been to become a CIA field operative. One day, his dream comes to life when he is given a chance to help the CIA flush out a mole leaking intel to the Russians. The book follows James’ CIA journey as he is betrayed by his own, and as he simultaneously battles against his anxiety.  

“It is a cross between Jason Bourne, Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde,” shares Joel.

The story looks at the consequences of the actions we take, as well as the inner conflict that some of us find ourselves having.

Joel's first book was a short story published in 2016 called A Dreadful Knowledge.  He credits his wife to influencing him to start following his dream. “I finally did it and it only took me 20 years of failures to find my niche in life,” Joel jokes. “I am glad that I started and finished writing my first of hopefully many books. Growing up I had an active imagination.”

Joel offers advice to those of us who want to pursue our passions, despite having full time jobs: “Learn about your passion and take small steps to accomplish it. Ask a lot of questions to people that have already done what you are looking to do. Use social media – people love to give advice.”
