Each year, Institutional Investor Magazine creates an exclusive annual ranking of the nation's top corporate leaders as judged by investment professionals. For the 2018 ranking, the magazine surveyed 3,046 portfolio managers and buy-side analysts and 1,002 sell-side analysts regarding attributes of Investor Relations programs.

Once again, Essex’s President and CEO Mike Schall has been recognized as one of the best in our industry. The nominations Mike received resulted in a second-place ranking for Institutional Investor Magazine's “Best CEO” list for REITs, both Overall and Buy Side.
