How to adjust Walktober Daily Tip Email Frequency
Have you been enjoying the daily tip emails from Walktober? If daily is too frequent, you can receive tips on Monday only or opt out completely.

To adjust your daily tip email frequency, in the Walktober site go to Settings > Preferences and select your email frequency preference. See the below screenshot.

Team Challenge #2: Spookify Your Recyclables
As part of Walktober, each week we'll also feature a fun team challenge. There will be four optional challenges in all, with submissions due by Tuesday, October 24.

Team Challenge #1 is "Arrange a  Fall Photo Shoot." For full details of challenge #1, check out last week's Walktober article here.

This week, we reveal Team Challenge #2: "Spookify Your Recyclables."  Got a recycle bin filled with jars, cans, and even toilet paper rolls? That's Halloween gold! Grab your Walktober teammates and your camera app, and get crafting. With most of these fixings on hand, you can get down to spookifying  your recyclables.

The team with the Most Creative photo of spooky recyclables will receive 2,000 points ($50 value) for each team member.  Submit your photo(s) to the Benefits Team at benefits@essex.com by Tuesday, October 24.

Need some inspiration? Check out these cool crafts (hint: we found these on Pinterest!).

Supporting the wellness of others
For this wellness challenge, the top 3 teams may choose one of ten organizations for Essex to make a donation to on their behalf.  Each week we will highlight two of the ten charities on Buzz. For full details of all the charities, see the Walktober FAQ's here, starting on page 3.

  • Livestrong Foundation’s mission is to improve the lives of cancer surviviors and those affected by cancer by providing direct services, community programs and systemic change.
  • The National Alliance on Mental Illness is a nationwide grassroots advocacy group that provides psychoeducation, research and support for people and their families impacted by mental illness through various public education and awareness activities.
