Caller posing as Home Depot Consumer Protection
An Essex associate reported that they received a phone call from an individual claiming to be from Home Depot's Consumer Protection Department.

The call appeared authentic, as the caller provided an 800-number and case reference number.

However, Home Depot does not have a Consumer Protection Department. The associate that received this call found it suspect, and called Home Depot's direct number to inquire. Home Depot officially confirmed that there is no consumer protection department.
