Attention: All Associates

What is Data Loss Prevention?
Data Loss Prevention (DLP) is a strategy  to protect the Personal identifiable Information (PII) and Payment Card Information (PCI) of our Residents, Prospects and associates.

Essex's Data Loss Prevention Strategy
Essex has implemented DLP capabilities in our firewalls, SharePoint sites, online storage in Office365, and our email system to safeguard this sensitive information.

What does this mean for our Essex associates?
If social security, passport information, Driver’s license or credit card numbers are detected in the body of an outbound email or in an unprotected attachment in an outbound email, the message will be quarantined for review and further action.  Our Information Security team will directly contact the sender of the email to ensure that they actually need to send this sensitive information in an unprotected email.
