Today, November 4, 2021, OSHA announced the requirement of employers to have a COVID-19 vaccination and testing program (OSHA ETS). We are studying the federal mandates and conferring with industry peers (several of which have already implemented vaccine requirements) and other subject matter experts on the best course of action.

We acknowledge that both options – weekly testing or mandating vaccination – will present significant business challenges, impact associates, and put the company in a difficult position. As we make our decision, we will be guided by Essex’s core values of Care About What Matters and Act With Integrity. In our evaluation, we will continue to consider the health and wellness of our associates and residents.

We expect to announce our decision in the very near future.
