Hello E-Team,

Each year I focus on a way to give to people in need of a little help during the holiday season. On Thanksgiving I always make extra food to give to some of the homeless people in neighboring cities. On Thanksgiving Day my 8-year-old son asked to help me prepare some dishes and helped package them to be distributed. He also asked to come along as I distributed the meals, so I had him come to help from a distance. We were able to provide a dozen individuals with Thanksgiving dinners with all the fixings and hot green pozole!

Last year was a very trying year for many people, so many struggled to provide for their families. I felt that more needed to be done to help struggling families than ever before. Every year I donate money and volunteer at The Children’s Hunger Fund, an organization that ships care packages and food boxes to families with children all around the world. I started to volunteer at the Children’s Hunger Fund when I was very young. I learned the importance of giving back to our communities early on. I was not able to volunteer at the Children’s Hunger Fund in 2020 due to the pandemic, but contributions were needed more than ever. I felt that a donation from my family would not suffice, so I started a cheesecake bake sale to raise funds. I used my social media platform to spread the word about my bake sale fundraiser, and immediately had orders coming in. Thanks to the cheesecake bake sale, I was able to raise enough funds to provide four meals for 20 families. This cheesecake bake sale is now a holiday tradition!
