PropData Transition to Microsoft SharePoint

Printer-friendly versionPDF version Tuesday, February 9, 2021

Currently, on-site teams use PropData as a storage drive for all property-related files on the Essex network. To access PropData, you must be on-site or connected to VPN. We are moving to a corporate standard of using Microsoft SharePoint as our cloud technology solution to store our data versus traditional servers. The benefits of the cloud technology include:

  • Reliability
  • Availability
  • Accessibility
  • Scalability
  • Security
  • Auditable

Microsoft SharePoint is Essex’s cloud technology solution.  80% of corporate departments and over 20 properties are using cloud storage today, including the K-Town Collection who moved 100% of their PropData to the cloud.

TRANSITION PLAN
For each property, we will migrate PropData to SharePoint in the off hours. When the associate signs in the next morning, the data will be located in File explorer.

The deployment plan will be scheduled by region with 20-minute training sessions held the week prior to the transition. Training will be offered the course of the entire week with one to 5 sessions per day.  A training video will also be posted on Buzz and Q&A sessions will be offered as well.

TRAINING AND TRANSITION SCHEDULE
All on-site associates are required to attend one 20-minute training session prior to their region's transition date. Please click on one of the four regional links below to sign up for a session.
