Attention: All Associates

Curious about the Steps to Success curriculum? Here's what some associates have to say about it.

“The curriculum was specific to my current role (Assistant Community Manager) and my advancement goals. I noticed that is was essentially broken up into 2 sections; administrative/accounting and leadership. Personally, I felt comfortable with both, but I took a lot out of the leadership courses. I like how the class started with the logistics/ specifics and worked this way up to critical thinking. The classes challenged my thought process and I learned quite a bit. Now that I have completed the courses, I have listed the accomplishment on my internal applications and resume. Thank you for offering this program in order to assist us in reaching our career goals.”
Aubrey Chapin, former Assistant Community Manager at The Havens

“I started as a Leasing Specialist a few years back and now I’m only a couple of weeks away from celebrating the end of my first year as a Community Manager! The Steps to Success Curriculum (SSC) provided by Essex isn’t something to take lightly. From seasoned members to those recently joining the E-Team, SSC is a tool that will help familiarize you with the principle knowledge required to elevate you to your next role. If you are a Leasing Specialist or Assistant Community Manager planning to move up, I highly recommend that you complete SSC before your next interview.”
-John Lee, Community Manager at Via

“When Steps to Success first rolled out, I was so excited that Essex created a path for growth. At the time, I was a Leasing Specialist with high hopes of becoming an Assistant Manager. With how busy my office was and how limited my interactions were with other communities/associates at the time, I couldn’t really develop my skills at the pace I wanted. With Steps to Success, I am in control of my own development and I can work on it at my own pace. I was able to complete all the Assistant Manager classes and it gave me a better understanding of how to be a leader and how to refine some skills that may be useful in the role. After completing the courses, I was able to pursue the Assistant Manager role with confidence. It allowed my superiors to see that I was willing to take the time to develop myself and that my goal was to move up. Now, I’ve set a new goal and am working on additional courses to continue to develop into a stronger associate.”
Andrea Hulbert, Assistant Manager at Axis 2300

“Steps to Success Curriculum has really been useful not only at workplace but in my personal life development as well. I feel more prepared to handle day to day tasks and anything else that comes my way!”
Samantha Matthews, Community Manager at Wharfside Pointe
