Workday and Calculating Future PTO

If you have recently requested paid time off (PTO) in Workday, you may have noticed that you are only able to request off the amount of time that you have available on the day you are making the request, not the day you intend to take it.
 
Beginning Monday, this will change! Starting August 5th, your future available PTO will automatically calculate based on your current schedule and accrual rate so that you may request time off further in advance and more accurately calculate how much PTO you will have available on any given date. Additionally, should something change between the time you request PTO and the time you take it (e.g., you get sick and use some of your PTO before you planned to), both you and your manager will receive an email from Workday the Monday before your planned PTO alerting you to adjust your requested time off.
 
The functionality to preview how much PTO you are expected to have on any given date exists within Workday by going to Time Off > Time Off Balance > and inputting a date in the future.
