Last month at Hillsdale Garden in the San Francisco Bay Area, community manager Shannon Ortega noticed a resident not seeming too well. Being the caring person she is, Shannon approached her and asked if everything was ok. The resident was unfortunately experiencing a difficult time.  
 
That night Shannon went home and had a conversation with her husband about the resident but it was her 11 year old son who insisted that she take his $20 to gift some groceries to the woman. The next day, Shannon hand delivered the groceries, plus a bouquet of flowers, to brighten the resident’s day.
 
“Shannon is constantly going above and beyond for her residents,” says senior ACM, Julie Molina. “The resident was very touched and wrote a 2 page letter thanking Shannon.”
