A few weeks ago, Jorge Contreras, esteemed and highly-respected teammate at Wilshire La Brea suffered a serious car accident. “Our team made visits to see him within hours,” says Selena Kerr, community manager at Wilshire La Brea, “Jorge has always been a go to guy for us. He has an infectious laugh. Always willing to help other properties in time of need.”
 
Jorge remains in high spirits, as the accident has not hindered his positive and upbeat personality, “while visiting him in ICU I asked him how he was feeling and he told me ‘I feel good!’ – from the guy who has to learn to walk again,” shares Selena.
 
Shortly after the accident, Selena started receiving calls and emails from Essex employees asking how they could help. An entire region of the Essex community rallied to provide Jorge with all types of support. “It was amazing to me,” says Selena, “we were able to pull our resources together to support a colleague we value so highly.”
