Attention: All Associates

Thanks to everyone who participated in the first annual Essex End Hunger Virtual Food Drive!

The virtual food drive was conducted in addition to a variety of other holiday fundraising efforts, including canned food drives and community toy drives. The virtual food drives worked through online donation and ran from Friday, December 6 through Friday, December 27, 2019. Communities competed to see who could raise the highest donation amount per unit, and the winning community had every donation matched by Essex.

For 2019, the community that claimed the top spot was Skyline, which raised a whopping $16.09 per unit or $5,615.60 in online donations, and that amount was matched to the penny by Essex for a grand total of $11,231.20 raised! Amazing job, Skyline! Way to set the bar for 2020's drives!

Rounding out the top three fundraisers were The Audrey at Belltown, which raised $1,050 and Villa Angelina, which raised $1,802.70.

In total, with Essex matching, the virtual food drive effort raised more than $23,962 across our communities!

At our corporate offices, a combination of the virtual food drive plus other fundraising efforts (such as Irvine's adopt-a-family drive and San Mateo's virtual toy drive) raised more than $16,175 for a grand total of $40,138.84 raised for our holiday drives in addition to in-kind donations collected. The corporate total was given a boost thanks to two generous personal donations from PNW RPMs Melissa Downs and Sherrie Clevenger--thank you Melissa and Sherrie!

Way to show your giving spirit this holiday season, E-Team! Thank you for your efforts.
