When Wilshire La Brea resident Brian was planning his marriage proposal to his girlfriend, Becca, he asked the team at Wilshire La Brea and sister property The Dylan to help make it special. Community Manager DJ Donnelly reserved the stunning rooftop terrace for Brian, and from there he set his romantic plan into motion. 

Residents Brian and Becca are "pawrents" to an adorable pooch, Bear, so Brian hatched a plan involving Bear to get his girlfriend to show up to The Dylan rooftop without suspecting the surprise proposal. Cleverly, Brian used the fact that Essex is pet-friendly and made a flyer about a dog training resident event. The flyer was impeccable, noting that the event was for "furry friends of all ages," and even adding that "beverages and human food will be provided." 

On the day of the proposal, friends and future in-laws arrived early to decorate the terrace with candles, lanterns, and flowers. The faux-flyer worked, and Becca showed up on time at 7 p.m. As Becca slowly realized what was going on, she began to tear up. Brian's father presented her with their dog Bear, who was wearing a sign that read, "Mommy, will you marry Daddy?" Brian got down on one knee, and Becca said ... YES!
