As a courtesy, we would like to remind you that the Rentcafé bulletin board will be retired on Tuesday, May 9 at 2 p.m. The reason for this change is the overall low resident engagement with this feature combined with the high amount of resources required to maintain it.

Here’s what you need to know about the Rentcafé bulletin board retirement:

• Retirement date. The Rentcafé bulletin board will be retired on Tuesday, May 9 at 2 p.m. After this time, access to this feature will no longer be available for either residents or associates.
• Open requests. Ensure that your team closes out any pending bulletin board requests by 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9. If you do not have the opportunity to complete requests by that time, please screenshot or print the information and reply to the resident(s) via email as soon as possible.
• Resident communication plan. On Tuesday, April 4 the following message was posted to every community’s Rentcafé bulletin board. There is nothing you need to do – we just want to keep you informed. 

Bulletin Board Message: Change is coming: Rentcafé’s bulletin board feature will retire on 05/09/17 at 2 p.m. If you have any questions, please reach out to your community manager.

• Addressing resident questions. Upon resident request, Community Managers may provide the following details about this decision:
  • We have decided to retire this feature due to overall low resident engagement combined with the high amount of resources required to maintain the bulletin board.
  • If residents are still looking for a way to engage with their community online, nextdoor.com is a good resource.
