Save energy and protect your community by setting the lighting time clocks
It's summer at Essex, which means that residents are enjoying our community pools and spas. To save energy, it's important to adjust the pool and spa lighting time clocks. Did you know that the lighting time clocks should be adjusted at least monthly?  Sunrise and sunset times change daily all year round.  

On at dusk, off at dawn
The pool and spa lighting time clock needs to be set so the lights come on at dusk and turn off at dawn each day.    As a reminder to adjust the pool and spa lighting time clocks, we have added this task to the monthly property inspection sheet and the quarterly inspection form.

Resource for checking sunrise and sunset times
An easy way to find out when the sun sets and rises is by using a weather app on a mobile device or via www.sunrise-sunset.org.   Just search for the city your community is located to determine the sunrise and sunset times, then adjust the pool and spa lighting time clock accordingly.
