OPEN ENROLLMENT: WHAT TO EXPECT FOR 2021

Good health is more than making the right decisions each day. It’s a promise to ourselves and those that depend on us to live our best—making smart choices on our lifelong journey to physical, emotional, and financial well-being.

As we face new challenges amid the pandemic and another year of wildfires close to home, leaning on your benefits has never been more important. While we are making some big changes this year, what remains is our commitment to offering industry-leading benefits to support you.

WHAT’S NEW OR CHANGING?

United Healthcare (UHC) EPO Plan
Beginning January 1, 2021, healthcare benefits will change from United Healthcare EPO to Cigna Open Access Plus. If you are enrolled in the UHC plan, you will be automatically enrolled in the Cigna plan unless you wish to make a change during Open Enrollment.

To manage costs for this plan, we’ve added a $200 deductible to certain healthcare services, including outpatient procedures, hospital admissions, and advanced imaging. Preventive care is not subject to the deductible.

You will receive more information in the coming weeks about how to transfer your care and prescriptions before January 1, 2021.

Kaiser HMO Plan
If you are currently enrolled in Kaiser benefits, this option will remain available to you in 2021. To keep Kaiser plans similar to the new Cigna plan, there will be increases to the specialist office visit, outpatient surgery and emergency room copays for all Kaiser plans. Complete pricing details will be included in the new benefits guide.

Cost-per-Paycheck Changes
With the cost of medical care rising, you will see a slight change in your cost-per-paycheck beginning in January 2021. However, we are delighted to tell you this should be minimal. On average for both the Cigna and Kaiser plans, you will see an increase of $5 to $17 in your cost-per-paycheck.
