“In 1991, a friend who worked at Essex recommended I join him. I am now celebrating 25 years at Essex,” says Magin Franco, maintenance technician at The Hamptons in Glendale, CA. When asked what was different in 1991, Franco laughed and replied, “I was young.”

Father, grandfather, soccer aficionado and someone who spent time working in Saudi Arabia, Franco is revered by everyone, “He always shows up to work with a smile. Every morning, he will come over to my desk, say ‘good morning’ and shake my hand,” says Joshua DeYoung, Franco’s colleague.

“Franco is amazing,” adds Erica Gambino, former colleague at The Hamptons. “So many great things come to mind. Residents and colleagues always mention what a joy it is to work with him.”

“Franco is so dependable and reliable. He’s always looking to keep the residents happy. He is not just a great colleague but a great friend as well,” notes Carlos Trujillo, who’s worked with Franco for the past two years at The Hamptons. 

Reflecting on his time with Essex, Franco says, “My 10-year milestone was very dear to me, 25 years…the idea of it is amazing.”

If you’d like to congratulate Franco on his incredible milestone, better catch him quick, as he’s planning to celebrate on a cruise to the Mexican Riviera with his wife.
