Dear E-Team,

As always, the safety and well-being of our employees remain our primary concern. Recent months have brought many COVID-19 related regulations from multiple levels of government including federal, state, and local creating uncertainty and confusion. Although the Federal Osha ETS is being reviewed by the Courts, we believe state and local guidelines will ultimately continue to apply. As a result, and with mindful consideration, after conferring with industry experts and other subject matter experts, we have decided to move forward with a company-wide vaccine requirement. In our evaluation, we considered the impact on associates, business challenges, and the health and wellness of our associates and residents.

Effective April 1,2022, Essex will require all current Essex associates to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of continued employment. All employees will be required to provide proof of vaccination by March 31, 2022. For more details on how to provide proof of vaccination and associated timeline, please visit the COVID-19 BUZZ Resources Hub – Vaccine FAQ

In compliance with state and federal laws, Essex will implement a process for associates who cannot be vaccinated due to a medical condition or a disability that does not allow an individual to get vaccinated against COVID-19, or a sincerely held religious belief, practice, or observance that conflicts with an individual’s ability to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. For more details on how to apply for accommodation and associated timeline, please visit the Accommodation Policy on the COVID-19 BUZZ Resources Hub.

This extensive transition period has been intentionally designed to ensure that all our associates and managers have ample time to prepare. However, we understand you may have questions surrounding this policy and we will provide many opportunities to have your questions answered over the coming weeks and months.

Essex will continue to ensure we are fully compliant with appropriate federal, state, and local laws and monitor business conditions and adjust as appropriate.

Thank you,
Your Essex Leadership Team
