Fountain Court has a Hero

On a summer afternoon, Haakon Steindal, porter at Fountain Court in Seattle, was on his lunch break walking to a nearby restaurant when he noticed a person curled up on the ground alongside a building. Many walked by disregarding the man, but not Haakon. He noticed not only that the man was bloody and passed out, but a Fountain Court resident. Haakon called out for others to help, but no one stopped. He reached for his cellphone and called the paramedics, who were able to bring the resident back to consciousness and proceeded to attend to his injuries. The night before, the resident was walking home, lost his balance, fell over, hit his head, cutting it open, and passed out on the sidewalk. No one stopped to help this person, until Haakon came along. But wait, there’s more! The paramedics advised the resident to go to the hospital, but could not force him to go. They offered to help him to his apartment, but the only person the resident wanted help from was Haakon. Haakon carried the resident several blocks back to his home. The resident has recovered from his injuries and is doing much better. Haakon is giving Seattle the hero it deserves. On behalf of the Fountain Court team and all of Essex, thank you for your big heart and Samaritan spirit!
