PTO Policy for 2020 Elections

Printer-friendly versionPDF version Monday, October 19, 2020

Essex encourages all associates to fulfill their civic responsibilities by participating in elections. Generally, we encourage you to find time to vote either before or after your regular work schedule or to vote by mail. To accommodate those who are voting in person on early voting days or on Tuesday, November 3, Essex will grant up to four (4) hours paid time off.  PTO should only be submitted for the amount of time necessary to include driving to and from the voting site and performing the actual act of voting. No documentation will be required.

If you are voting in person, you must provide your manager with written notice at least five (5) days in advance to request time off to. Additionally, we ask that you remain flexible to limit business disruption and stagger your work schedule to ensure proper coverage.

Time off requests can be made via Workday as you would normally request PTO using the type "Voting Time Off."
