Last month, associates from several corporate departments participated in the Day in the Field event. Everyone from Procurement and Redevelopment to IT and Marketing spent an entire day shadowing Maintenance and Leasing Office associates in the LA and Ventura regions.

The goal of the Day in the Field event was to strengthen the relationship between on-site and corporate teams, who rely on each other greatly but don’t always have the opportunity to interact in person. Having firsthand experience with daily struggles and successes creates new opportunities to support one another.

Over the course of the day, corporate associates experienced everything that goes on during a typical day on-site. Visiting corporate associates didn’t just watch, but pitched in with tasks like servicing maintenance requests and posting Craigslist ads.

On-site teams had a helper for the day, and also had the opportunity to voice opinions or concerns.

RPM Rebecca Corey, who organized the event, reflects that,

“… by getting on-site, you’re clearly able to see the heartbeat of the company; it’s in every tour that is taken and every apartment that’s turned.  We have an awesome team.”
